Saxenda (liraglutide injection)

What’s inside

One pack contains 3 (three) prefilled, dial-a-dose, single-patient use pens. Each pen contains 18 mg of liraglutide, and you can select doses of 0.6 mg, 1.2 mg, 1.8 mg, 2.4 mg and 3 mg. Each pen is made to be used with NovoFine® or NovoTwist® disposable needles up to a length of 8 mm. Pen needles are not included with your Saxenda pen.

How it works

Saxenda is a glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist used with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity for chronic weight management. Saxenda delays gastric emptying, which makes you feel full longer after a meal and suppresses your appetite.

How to use

Dose escalation schedule

Start Saxenda at a dose of 0.6 mg daily for one week. Then follow the dose escalation schedule to minimize gastrointestinal adverse reactions.
